Cycle Electric CE-540 12V voltage regulator for Harley-Davidson 1936-1984
The Cycle Electric CE-540 is specifically designed to seamlessly fit on the end of your 12-volt -65A OEM Harley generator, ensuring both a neat appearance and modern charge regulation functionality. By adding this regulator to your existing generator, you can experience performance similar to the Cycle Electric DGV-5000, as long as your stock generator is not weak/worn out.
The housing of the CE-540 is a structural part of the generator containing one of the armature bearings and features a current-limiting circuit that monitors the temperature of the armature and adjusts the current accordingly. As the temperature increases, the current decreases proportionally. This unique feature allows for higher output after a cold start, enabling faster battery recharging. (It's possible for the battery to recover in as quickly as five minutes instead of 20.)
